Girl, I see constantly posts/tiktoks/content about how Rhysand is a SA Victim and 99% of the comments are always super supportive, but every time a Nesta post is made about how she was SA'd by the Kelpie and/or Thomas there are always some Nesta antis in the comments being like "her trauma, doesn't absolve her of being a horrible sister!!!!" even though the post has nothing to do with feyre

or than god forbid people point out that feyre is a Victim of SA in the hands of Rhysand all hell breaks loose, and instead of acknowledging what rhysand did was SA , most of the fandom is out here trying to justify it with the same old tired phrase of "he did it to protect her" or even worse out right denying it by being like "rhysand touching feyre's waist, arms, making her sit on his lap and kissing her against her will isn't SA because only certain circumstances need to occur for it to be classified as SA"

Don't even get me started on the people who believe that gwyn faked her SA and is secretly an evil lightsinger

And the one who rarely gets any recognition of being a SA Victim (besides from his fans) is Lucien. I saw a handful of posts/tiktoks from lucien fans that bring this topic up but those are not nearly as popular as Rhysand's posts and where are almost always some people in the comments of lucien's posts who are asking "when did he get SA'd?"

I also really liked how they changed the lore of the Big Three Pact to not involve WWII anymore cuz when I was reading TLT again the whole story with WWII specifically just seemed to follow the narrative of “Hades kids bad” which obviously isn’t something that the later books show

I do wonder if the writers of 23.5 didn't anticipate how immediately the audience would both love and deeply understand Aylin as a character

like I wonder if the reason the last few episodes felt very awkward and ham-fisted is because they assumed the viewers would find aylin strange and mysterious and had this arc that "explained" her behavior by having a big reveal about getting bullied when it seems that in reality everyone understood her whole deal from the very beginning

i also get the impression from aylin's big confession scene that they might have expected the audience to overall relate more with the popular seniors (which could explain the otherwise baffling decision to have ton and mawin present when they had no significant part in aylin's story otherwise. I also think they expected the reception to ton to be a lot warmer than it perhaps has been, but that's a whole other post)

either way it feels like there was a big disconnect from what they expected out of their viewers and what people ultimately wanted out of the show

overall I just have so much less patience now for shows that once upon a time had something interesting going on and then betrayed the specific thing that was good about them. sometimes it’s a sudden death, like Veronica Mars or The Good Place (or HIMYM). sometimes it’s a slow transformation, like Gilmore Girls or Ted Lasso. sometimes you get through a whole show and only realize later that the things you loved were only there accidentally (Community was a bit like this for me). and I’m just. so. tired of it! it’s okay to lose your way a little bit, it happens to the best of us and a good ending can blot out a multitude of sins (Vampire Diaries). but the bottom line is I don’t wanna do all the work of finding coherence in your story!! I’m not listing shows that crashed and burned as favorites anymore! only shows that lived up to their potential!!

One of the most exhausting parts of the majority of the fandom reading MTMTE first is that they forget that it was written later and then retroactively read earlier stuff and go "Megatron is so OOC!"

No darling, pre-MTMTE Megatron is perfectly in-character, you just don't understand the concept of chronological order + haven't read anything besides MTMTE + take JRO's softened version of Megatron as who Megatron has always been + don't recognize the obvious bias JRO had toward making MTMTE Megatron more sympathetic + call yourself a villain stan but can't handle when your blorbo actually does villain shit that you can't twist around as being akshully justified.

Tbh that's more tragic for y'all than it is for me and like, I don't really care bc I can just not follow ppl who make that content, but it's really fucking annoying when ppl with no frame of reference for IDW1 shit on all the writers who came before as if JRO wasn't the one who disrupted typical canon takes and did something new (yes, for better and for worse). And also act as if Megatron being a villain was some conspiracy to villainize revolutionaries when in fact it's the revolutionary background that was established way after Megatron's character was already established to be an anti-organic evil conqueror all the way back in uhhhhhh........ G1?

So yeah no MTMTE Megatron isn't the only Megatron that exists and is actually imo a downgrade from his earlier appearances that fully embraced his villainy. You literally can't be coming in on one of the penultimate series of IDW1 and go "akshully all the other versions of Megatron are wrong and OOC and boring" when they literally came first and established the baseline MTMTE worked on like jsfnwkxjsjdkekv
